California Offers Resident Low-Cost Auto Insurance
Santa Barbara, CA-- With California's unemployment rate topping 11-percent, the state is offering struggling residents an affordable car insurance option.
The California Low Cost Automobile Insurance Program provides drivers with the legally-mandated minimum coverage. On average the cost of the insurance is about $20 per month.
Residents have to be low-income and good drivers to qualify.
State Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner told KEY News, "the low cost auto insurance product is a scaled down product designed just to provide the liability coverage, that you need in order to be in compliance with the law to protect yourself and your family if you are behind the wheel."
